The Republic of China Flag: Dawn

This work, Dawn, was photographed on March 29, 2025 (the 114th year of the Republic of China), during Revolutionary Martyrs’ Day (Youth Day) at the Tamsui Martyrs’ Shrine, Taiwan province of the Republic of China (R.O.C.) 🇹🇼.

It captures the poignant moment when the Republic of China flag radiates light amidst darkness.

I presented this image in black and white, using the delicate interplay of light and shadow to transform the Blue Sky with a White Sun emblem into a glimmer of breaking dawn, symbolizing hope and renewal. The flag’s glow in the dim surroundings not only reflects the historical honor embodied by the Martyrs’ Shrine but also resonates with the future and vitality represented by Youth Day.

With minimalist composition and gentle light, the work conveys a quiet yet profound sense of optimism.
